The theme for the webinar series is Putting People at the Heart of Human Rights Due Diligence, and we'll have sessions on topics such as effective rightsholder engagement, applying a gender lens to HRDD and grievance mechanisms. More details about the first webinar are below.

Want to improve your human rights due diligence?  Sign up for Oxfam Business Advisory Service’s upcoming series drawing on our recent experience in supporting companies including Reckitt, Tesco, AB InBev, Unilever, and Burberry across rightsholder engagement, grievance mechanisms and applying a gender lens.

"Meaningful consultation with potentially affected groups” is embedded in the 2011 United Nations Guiding Principles but we hear at Oxfam how challenging businesses can find this.  Drawing on Oxfam’s expertise and global network Oxfam Business Advisory Service has been supporting companies to meet their requirements under the UNGPs and other human rights legislation by putting people at the heart of human rights due diligence.

Oxfam Business Advisory Service advisors are running a series of free webinars over the coming months that provide practical tips and tackle common challenges wherever your company is on your human rights due diligence (HRDD) journey. We will cover:

1.      Meaningful rightsholder engagement (8 May)

2.      Applying a gender and intersectional lens to HRDD (4 June)

3.      Effective grievance mechanisms (2 July), and

4.      Increasing representation of women in management (September)

To kick off the series, our first session will introduce what Oxfam means by rightsholder engagement, and highlight both why companies need to and how to do it effectively in practice.

Wednesday 8th May

10:00-11:00 BST (UTC+1)
