Webinar: Towards a gender-responsive transposition of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive

Date: 20-11-2024
Time: 15:00
Location: Online

The webinar will be held in English, with interpretation in Spanish and French.

On November 20, 2023, ActionAid Netherlands is organizing a webinar to explore the opportunities to strengthen gender equality and women's rights in the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the new EU legislation on corporate accountability.

This directive obligates large companies to respect human rights and the environment throughout their entire supply chains. Although gender is not explicitly mentioned, the directive does provide opportunities to improve the position of women in the corporate sector.

During the webinar, experts will discuss how this can be addressed:

  • Aicha Belassir, Director General of Social Economy and Corporate Social Responsibility at the Spanish Ministry of Labor
  • Ume Laila Azhar, Executive Director of HomeNet Pakistan and member of the Clean Clothes Campaign
  • Enrique Fernández-Maldonado, PERU EQUIDAD - Business and Human Rights Program Manager
  • Anna Hengeveld, Policy Advisor Gender and Corporate Accountability at ActionAid Netherlands
  • A member of the Dutch House of Representatives

After a brief presentation of the recent ActionAid report "Towards a gender-responsive transposition of the CSDDD", a panel discussion will follow on the findings and possible ways forward.

The webinar will take place on November 20, 2023 at 3:00 pm CET. Sign up quickly to contribute to the fight for gender equality and women's rights in the corporate sector.
