During this interactive webinar we will exchange challenges and successes in countering (online) hatred against female politicians. We will be digging into this topic from experiences in the Netherlands as well as Spain and Sweden.

Speakers include:
- Judith de Jong, co-author of the research and PhD researcher at the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. Her doctoral research focuses on how citizens with a migration background evaluate political representation in the Netherlands, Germany, and France
- Christina Alnevall, a senior expert at the Department for Policy Analysis and Monitoring at the Swedish Gender Equality Agency (Jämställdhetsmyndigheten).
- Ainhoa Novo Arbona is from the Political Science department at the University of Basque Country. Her research concerns gender studies, gender representation and quota (Spain and comparative) and federalism. She coordinates the doctoral programme in feminist and gender studies in UPV/EHU.
The research
‘Anyone still wanting to enter politics?’ shows that aspiring female politicians who witness violence may be discouraged from entering politics. This may lead to further underrepresentation of women in politics.
