The Power of Local Action: WRO and GDO Leadership in Locally Led Humanitarian Action

We are delighted to invite you to the first webinar in our three-part series focusing on practitioner perspectives on recent research reports produced by Oxfam on local humanitarian leadership (LHL). This series seeks to bring together researchers and practitioners to reflect on the findings from these reports and to think through the challenges of translating research into action. We will hear directly from local actors, who will share their experiences working in the humanitarian sector, discussing obstacles they face and what successes they have achieved.

 

The first webinar in the series centers the experiences of women’s rights organizations and gender diverse organizations in LHL. The webinar takes the Oxfam report, Women Leading Locally: Exploring Women’s Leadership in Humanitarian Action in Bangladesh and South Sudan as a launching point to host dialogue on what are some tangible ways and recommendations we can take to better support women’s rights organizations and gender diverse organizations going forward. Given the crucial role women’s rights organizations and gender diverse organizations have in locally led humanitarian action, what needs to change and how?
