Date: 15-07-2021Time: 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM (NY Time) Location: online
The coronavirus in 2020 has caused abrupt and profound changes, slowing
the economy even further. It is having an adverse impact on the world's
labor markets, particularly on workers in informal employment, the
self-employed, daily wage earners and workers in sectors at the highest
risk of disruption. The COVID 19 and World of work, 7 th edition
indicates that the Global unemployment increased by 33 million in 2020
while the 81 million shifted to the inactivity or declined in the labor
force. The ILO estimation shows that in 2020, Globally, around half of
working-hour losses are due to employment loss, while the other half
can be attributed to reduced working hours (including workers who
remain employed but are not working).
This event will share the impact of COVID 19 in informal and unpaid care
work and the need to build an equal, inclusive and sustainable
economies for resilient societies in the face of pandemics.
