WO=MEN and the Dutch Women's Council (NVR) are pleased to invite you to the last FEM Talk of 2021. A special edition about trends around feminist foreign policy and good examples of national policies and practices of other countries for a better work-care distribution in the Netherlands, plus the question what role a feminist foreign policy can play in this.
Many countries already have a feminist foreign policy. When will the Netherlands take the plunge? The Netherlands has a leadership position with Social Development Goal (SDG) 5 as a cross-cutting goal in its Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation policy. But feminist foreign policy goes beyond that. Because international policy also influences (the formation of) national policy. We would therefore like to go through the trends. What is feminist foreign policy? Which countries have a feminist foreign policy and what does it look like? Are there opportunities for national policy, including on work/care distribution, if the Netherlands would pursue a feminist foreign policy and what research is needed for that?
In the second part of the meeting, we want to delve into good international examples of national policies on work-care distribution. What are good practices on specific work-care themes from different countries from which we can learn as the Netherlands?
We look forward to seeing you on 24.11.2021 during the FEM Talk!
