CSW68 Civil society online consultation for Europe and Central Asia

On Wednesday the 24th of January 2024 the UN Women Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Regional Office will organise an online consultation. The main purpose of this consultation is to support subregions and stakeholders with their preperation for the CSW68. 

The objective is to agree on key joint messages that will form the sub-regional vision and various constituencies’ vision (including civil society organizations, youth, and adolescents). These messages will encompass perspectives, experiences, and recommendations relating to the 68th session’s main theme: "Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.” 

 

The consultations will specifically address challenges and opportunities in accelerating gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) by focusing on poverty alleviation, strengthening social protection, unveiling and addressing unpaid care work, women’s participation in the labor force, and financing with a gender perspective. The consultations are expected to lead to a civil society position paper.
