CSW66: On the Margins: A Gendered Perspective on Labour Rights

This event focuses on the experiences of sexual and gender diverse people, who face systematic and intersecting forms of discrimination in accessing employment and labour rights, and who face disproportionate rates of violence. These experiences negatively impact livelihood, human capital, and economic and political participation, ultimately creating and perpetuating a cycle of poverty and disempowerment. As such, the event will uplift diverse voices, provide recommendations, and focus on global best practices on economic empowerment and inclusion in gender equality policy and development programs to ensure the full realization of the Beijing Platform for Action and Agenda 2030.
