Hadeel Abdel Aziz, founder of the Justice Center for Legal Aid (JCLA) in Jordan, will share her insights and recommendations related to fairer justice systems and access to legal aid for women and other people living in poverty.
JCLA has played a critical role in advocating against arbitrary detention, including detention of women "for their own protection” from so-called honor crimes. Hadeel recently received the International Women of Courage Award for her outstanding and consistent advocacy for access to justice for all Jordanians.
