Lecture by Mr. Md. Shahidul Haque
Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh
Bangladesh has played an important role in advancing the international migration & refugees agendas in recent years, to move beyond the deadlock in the previous generation. It chaired the Global Forum for Migration and Development in 2016, and helped to prepare the 2016 New York Declaration, agreed in the UN General Assembly at the summit of national leaders.
This has led to negotiations on Global Compacts on Migration and on Refugees, due to be finalized in 2018. Secretarus Hague worked earlier with the international Organization for Migration in many countries. He will talk about principles and processes in Improving International Migration Regimes.
